Monster of the Day #1872

Man, every piece of art I see from this guy I wish was becoming a cartoon series. Here we get another taste of Timm’s Marvel love.

  • Beckoning Chasm

It’s a shame Warners didn’t let Timm & Company oversee the live-action DC films.

Timm’s Frankenstein has a sorta-Mignola look to him. I’m surprised to see Simon Garth AKA the Zombie there. He’s kind of obscure.

They do seem to finally be on a bit of a roll, at least financially. We’ll see how Shazam does. (Both companies have a Captain Marvel movie out next year! Crazy times.)

  • Ken_Begg

I think he’s doing their ’70s monster characters, or at least the archetypal ones. Man, that Dracula run was great. I wish Marvel would reprint those Tomb of Dracula omnibuses. They sold out instantly and are way too pricey for me secondhand.

It was nice to see Aquaman do so well, After all he’s the hero whose superpower is to talk to fish.

Now he’s the billion dollar hero with the power to talk to fish.

  • Eric Hinkle

All too true. I should have picked them up when I still could. At least I have the first Essentials ToD.

And like most horror stuff, it works better in black and white than something like Fantastic Four or Spider-Man.
