  • I love this movie all out of proportion to it’s merits as a piece of cinematic art. It helps that Don Pedro Colley *is* Baron Samedi. He is so perfect in the role that his portrayal is the one that always comes to mind when that particular loa shows up anywhere in literature.

    Yeah, Colley was easily the highlight of the film; he was so dead-on with that role. I did love the zombies, too, as they’ve got a few unique traits to make them stand out. I think you’re right about loving it more than it perhaps deserves as a movie, but as they say the devil is in the details, and the details make this movie.
