Monster of the Day #1866

Bonus William Marshall points!

  • I personally love the World’s Whitest Black Disco in this. I seriously do hope someone eventually turns up a decent print of this one for a future release (unlikely given the legal shenanigans that ensued upon its original release, but a girl can hope).

  • Beckoning Chasm

William Marshall’s mustache is seriously distracting.

Also, I find it interesting that (apparently) one guy is credited as both “G. Cornell Layne” and “Gordon C. Layne.” Did his producer half cheat his writer half?

    Woo Hoo Terry Carter!!!

I guess it’s not surprising he did black exploitation films in the ’70s but still the first time I found out about it was a little hard to reconcile the spit-and-polish straight arrow Colonel Tigh with this.

‘Time to bust a cap in some shiny metal Cylon *****!!!’

Named for grandfathers and had to make both parents happy?

  • BGBear_rnh babyit’scoldoutside

Her husband, her brother, her friend, her step-father, her second cousin once removed, her college roommate’s boyfriend, her neighbor she always waves at, but does not know very well (is his name Lenny? Larry?), her postman . . .

Don’t tell me what I can do, or I’ll have my mustache eat your beard.

  • Beckoning Chasm

A face that just screams ‘I’M CONSTIPATED!”

  • Flangepart

For that joke, you should only drop dead.

  • Ericb

Also bonus points for not having the word “black” in the title. They could have gone with “The Blaxcorcist!”

  • The Rev.

But they did that with Voodoo Black Exorcist and look how well that turned out!

    *cough*

  • Ken_Begg

Wow! A What’s Up Tiger Lily reference!

    Two Wongs…don’t make a Wight.

I saw WUTL as a kid at the Pickwick Theatre as part of a Woody Allen triple bill (remember stuff like that?). I’ve loved it ever since, and nobody has ever come close to repeating it’s success rate. One of the other films was Love & Death, I imagine the third was Bananas or Sleeper.

  • They did try releasing it under the alternate title of “Possess my Soul”.

  • Marsden

Terry Carter also was the cop from the first Benji movie in 1975.
