Monster of the Day #1802

Imgur is finally working again, so we can finish off our dummy run with perhaps the most classic example. And yeah, a Monday holiday means a short remaining work week, so bonus on that. Have a great one, everybody.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Eh, as far as holidays are concerned…well, I’ve been part-time for years now, and a holiday just means less money for me. Still, hope everyone else enjoyed it.

  • Beckoning Chasm

OT, but someone’s been busy in the forum. I’m trying to imagine what a “posture battle” is, and I have to admit I’m failing.

  • Marsden

    Does it involve chiropractors?

  • Flangepart

What do evil dummies fear? Fire…axes…termites…

  • zombiewhacker

What’s most horrifying is that this classic film isn’t available on DVD or Blu-ray.

  • Eric Hinkle

    Which ‘classic film’ is this?

  • zombiewhacker

Unless I’m mistaken, this is a scene from Dead of Night, one of the first and best of the (too) many British horror anthologies to reach our shores.

If it wasn’t for TCM, we’d never get to see this movie today at all.

  • Ken_Begg

Huh, it used to be. On a double bill with something called (I think) Queen of Hearts. I have it on my shelf somewhere, I think.

  • Gamera977

‘Now I’ll drink a glass of water while my dummy strangles me…’

  • Eric Hinkle

Ah! My sister loves this movie.

  • zombiewhacker

Queen of Spades, correct. The OOP DVD can be purchased new at Amazon… for $119.98.

  • Ken_Begg

    Hmmmm……

  • zombiewhacker

Apparently the original prints for the film were destroyed in a fire years ago, which is why video releases have been so spotty. But recently a restored print was released on DVD and Blu-ray (PAL format only) in the UK, so perhaps there is hope for us Yanks.)
