Monster of the Day #1746

Hmmm, this material reminds me of *somebody’s* work….

  • Acethepug

Frazetta? Nah, nothing like him :) (now you’ll mention another artist and I’ll feel like, well, a pug in a luchadore mask)

  • Beckoning Chasm

Not the best time to be ass-scratchin’.

A frog went a-courtin’ and he did ride, M-hm, M-hm.

Sword and pistol by his side, M-hm, M-hm

The overall stances of the figures is a lot like Frazetta, but it looks too brightly lit to be him. And that poor woman’s head…!

  • You talk about one screwed hero…

  • bgbear_rnh

He got one frog/toad thingy. Took me awhile to see it.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Actually, I looked him up. Frazetta was one of his students.

  • Eric Hinkle

I’ve read some of Kline’s books. He used to get sneered at as ‘a mere Burroughs imitator’, but he was pretty good in his own right. Definitely a more skilled writer for one thing.

For fans of Toho’s trilogy of vampire films, they’re available right now on Amazon under the title of ‘The Bloodthirsty Trilogy’. THE VAMPIRE DOLL, LAKE OF DRACULA, and EVIL OF DRACULA all in one set. Blu-Ray only, sorry to say, and going for about $30. But hey, classic Toho vampire movies!

  • Gamera977

Awesome thanks! I’ve always heard about these. Generally that they weren’t all that good but still thirty for all three I think it’s worth it for vintage Toho!
