Monster of the Day #1305

Man, never…ever…make fun of that guy’s frozen peas.

  • Beckoning Chasm

    Looks like Neil Adams’ work.

  • Ericb

Did this come out pre or post Hulk?

  • Gamera977

Yeah, I was wondering if Marvel could sued them?

And I begin to understand what Eric refereed to yesterday about how bat-guano crazy this comic series was.

  • It came out in 1971, according to the DCWiki. While the cover was done by Neil Adams (as Beckoning Chasm noted), the interior stuff was done by Jack Kirby, one of the guys responsible for the Hulk.

Also according to the Wiki, the cover fibs. That’s not one of Jimmy’s countless turns as a monster. Rather it’s his giant clone. Which means Marvel probably couldn’t sue.

In slightly related news, the Spider-Clone saga suddenly looks a whole lot more sane to me. I mean, clone Jimmy Olsen? Jimmy Olsen? Nutso to the max, man.

I hate when he goes on about his “giant Jimmy”.

  • Flangepart

Notice this wee beastie has freckles…they all have freckles! It’s the mutant freckles from heck!

‘And I begin to understand what Eric refereed to yesterday about how bat-guano crazy this comic series was.’ Like I said to someone once, this is the series where, when Olsen gets his brain transplanted into a gorilla, all Supes has to do is to say that “It’s just Olsen again” and everyone immediately understands.
