Monster of the Day #1192

The monster looked like he’d cheesed because they woke him up. “Some of us have to work in the morning, you damn kids!”

  • Beckoning Chasm

Cheetah and Grodd flee, knowing that the monster will soon have to deal with the awesome power that is the Riddler. If that monster wasn’t already toast, it soon would be!

  • Flangepart

Cheeta: “Giant fire monster made of lava? SEE Ya!”
Grodd: “I’m a genius. Genius! But did I agree to come along? Yesssss…”

  • Gamera977

Riddle me this: ‘What’s purple, green, and on fire???’

‘ME! SOMEBODY GRAB THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER FROM THE HALL OF DOOM!!! ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!’

At least Black Manta could use his boat to throw some cold water on the fire monster.

  • Gamera977

‘GET OFF MY LAVA, YOU YOUNG PUNKS!!!’

  • Beckoning Chasm

The background of this is beautiful–very evocative. I like the lava-falls in the background, for example. It really does conjure up a whole world…which is, of course, let down by the writing, but then you can’t have everything.

I lava what you have done with this place, it’s magmanificent

  • Eric Hinkle

Hey, Grodd is a genius. He’s saving himself and leaving one of the Legion of Doom’s least valuable members behind to get toasted by Lavan there. It’s win-win!

The monster actually looks quite intimidated by the Riddler. Look at it’s body language. Like someone who’s just found a mouse on the arm of their chair!

  • bgbear_rnh

Kinda like the way Miss Kringle reacts to him on Gotham.

  • BobTanaka

Riddler: “Woah! Guys, are you seeing this?! …Guys?”
Grodd: “I told you this would work; now we’re finally rid of the green and purple millstone!”

  • Eric Hinkle

Cheetah: “Sorrry I ever doubted you, Grrrodd. Let’s bring Toyman and Captain Cold down here next.”

  • Ken_Begg

Grodd, to himself: “And then you’re next, you *sluuuuuurp* feline fool.”

  • Eric Hinkle

Villains. They always betray each other, don’t they? You think they’d learn after a while.
