Monster of the Day #1145

Well, that’s just a clear violation of Ken’s Rule of Guns right there.

  • Pity this one, for he’s so lame he doesn’t even get an -oso after his name

  • Flangepart

Either his eyes have no pupils …or he’s sleep smashing.

  • bgbear_rnh

    The Monster runs amok,
    Shoot him now,
    He’s got a truck,
    He’s going to throw it,
    So you better duck,
    Bullet don’t stop him
    What the . . . luck

  • Beckoning Chasm

He has the ability to drain all color from vehicles. He’s working as an enforcer for Earl Scheib.

  • Gamera977

Yeah, couldn’t tell if his eyes are closed or he’s looking down at the guy shooting him.

And heck, if you’re going to violate Ken’s Rule of Guns that flagrantly by standing right there just shoot him where it hurts – right in the nards for crying out loud…

  • Rock Baker

Is that cop a security guard for the Sprite factory? Few branches of law enforcement wear uniforms of yellow and lime green…

  • Beckoning Chasm

You know, that guy screen-left on the truck…the guy losing his hat…it sure looks like he’s loading a piece of paper into his typewriter.

I would think there’d be a better time and place, myself, but maybe his column is really overdue.

  • Eric Hinkle

And talking Marvel Comics (though I dunno if anyone will care here), have you heard about Marvel shutting all their titles down for a total reboot? Spidey, the Avengers, Hulk, Captain America, Devil Dinosaur, everyone’s going bye-bye. To be replaced with new modern hip and with-it versions. Or something like that.

I was personally surprised to find myself feeling a pang over the news. Guess I still like them on some level, after all.

  • Gamera977

You don’t mean stuff like the new female Thor etc? I don’t even follow comics and thought what on Earth are you guys thinking???

  • Flangepart

Looks like it. Guess Star Trek made them all think “Hey, we can DO this!”…not that I care…

  • Ericb

This sound like it’s going to be the New Coke of the 21st Century.

  • Eric Hinkle

As far as I know, they’re ending every single title and rebooting them. Which means that the old Marvel Universe that’s been around since 1961 is going to be gone forever.

  • Eric Hinkle

That would still be better than the Edsel, which is what I fear this may become.

  • Gamera977

One of the articles I read claimed the only point of publishing the comics anymore is to hold onto the movie rights. Aka; Disney or whoever owns them really doesn’t care what happens in the comic books now.

  • Eric Hinkle

… Rats. I wonder if this means we can expect the comics to get even worse as a result. Then again I’ve been out of ‘current’ Marvel comics for over a decade now, so it doesn’t affect me much at all. Let me have my Essentials and I’ll be happy.

  • Flangepart

See, this is what happens when someone takes over someone elses creative expression. “It’s not mine. Crep, I wanna make a name for myself! I know-”REBOOT!”

  • bgbear_rnh

I think it is time for Shakespeare to get a reboot.

  • The Rev.

I’m surprised people here aren’t excited about more comics like the female Thor one.
I mean, the writing was obviously touched by Our Dark Lord, as any that have read it can attest.

  • Ericb

That’s not as bad a the guy in the foreground with blue hair, must be a proto-hipster.

  • Eric Hinkle

It’s really that bad? I had my suspicions, as all I seemed to be seeing about it online was raging that anyone who disliked it was an evil bigot or something. Not one word about the plot or character or anything else.

  • Eric Hinkle

Don’t joke, someone in Hollywood will see this and think it’s a great idea.
