Monster of the Day #891 (Updated)

This is from the same movie the hippo shot last Friday came from. The suit looks pretty shoddy, but the make-up is actually pretty good for a film with this budget.

Here’s a publicity still I found giving us another (perhaps too) good look at the monster.

No wonder werewolves usually have ragged clothes in old movies.

A werewolf and hippo in the same movie ? That’s unusual. According to Monster Squad, a werewolf wears clothes to cover his ‘wolf dork’.

I wish he’d been a werehippo, I’d pay to see that.

‘Ma’am, ma’am? Didn’t mean to scare you, just wondering what shampoo and conditioner you use- you can see I’m a bit of a mess here. Can’t seem to do anything with this fur.’

A werehippo? Is that like Peter Potamus ?

Color me intrigued! It seems to be a jungle movie, but I can’t figure why one featuring a Bigfoot-type creature like this has never entered my scope before. Title and date, please!

  • Petoht

It looks like he’s wearing a two piece suit covered in lint.

    Hairy guys ain’t got no hangin’downs! Unless it’s a she…ewww…

Jungle Jim in the Forbidden Land. 1952, I think.

  • Ericb

    Looks like Tom Baker

  • Flangepart

    Yeah…it’s the eyes.

  • Rock Baker

Thanks, Ken! I’ll have an eye out for this one!

  • Ken_Begg

Yeah, I was intrigued enough to look at a DVD-R set on ioffer, but I’m trying to keep purchases to a minimum until I find another job.

Darn it! I’ve been writing a MARK TRAIL VS. BIGFOOT script for so long and now I see someone has beaten me to it! They even have Mark giving Sasquatch his famous right hook!
