Halloween approaches swiftly. Many of us are covered for stuff to watch via our personal home video libraries. However, for those looking to branch out, don’t forget YouTube and Amazon Prime. The latter has unsurprisingly beefed up its horror offering for the month. To start with, they have a small but nice selection of Universals available, including Dracula, Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, Creature of the Black Lagoon and The Invisible Man. Hard to go wrong with any of that. Plus you feed the algorithm and let Amazon know people want more stuff like that.
(If you want something a little farther afield, Prime also offers Dan Curtis’ Dracula, starring Jack Palance. I remember that being pretty good, although lamentably it introduced the notion of Mina being a reincarnation of the Count’s One Great Love, an idea that has been a pestilence to vampire films in general and Dracula films specifically.
