Thanks to everyone that made the Discord Watch Party. We watched Velvet Smooth, a rather tame and inept Blaxploitation flick that might have been a boring watch for one person but really hit that sweet spot for a group watch. Thanks to Dr Ngor for joining us for the first time, I hope you enjoyed yourself. The good Dr is the author of a series of books called the The Martial Arts Movies Almanac, which breaks down the genre with a volume for each year starting in 1970. You can find them on Amazon if you’re interested. So it was a nice coincidence that the featured film featured (sort of) martial arts action.
