Look, obscurities like Cyborg Cop II are fine. It’s fun to find new (to us) weird, often foreign, movies to share. But sometimes, you should remember to dance with the girl that brought you. I can’t remember if it was because some of the kids were in attendance, but we decided to watch Ebirah Horror of the Deep (aka Godzilla vs the Sea Monster for us old-timers), and what could be wrong with that.
This was my first Godzilla movie as a kid and I imprinted on it hard. I love this one and Son of Godzilla and was shocked to learn as an adult that many Godzilla fans disdain these two films. Well, I love them. I think either offers one of the best human cast of any classic Godzilla movie, I love the colorful aesthetic, the goofy Godzilla suit, everything. A very happy choice.
