Posters! I love 'em! This one's pretty good, and actually although very low-budget, this film lives up to the spirit of the poster if not the literal image.

I'm back! Sorry, my trip to Kentucky got extended for reasons that, well, weren't great. Back now, though. We finish up out look at T-Fest 2019 with a look at a film we watched post-Fest. It was about the laff riot of the weekend, however. Behold the terror that is...Sharon's Baby. (Despite the fact…

Off on vacation for a bit…

I'm heading down to Kentucky to visit with family, so everyone have a good week-ish. I'll be back on Thursday (although hopefully I'll be sleeping in that first morning.)

Monster of the Day #2010

Sunday those of us that stayed around tested new games and (surprised) watched cheesy movies. We started watching Andy Sidaris' Seven, with "Big" Bill Smith. However, shortly after that some of Sandy's grandkids came to visit, so we hurriedly stopped that and started up with X from Outer Space. It was a big hit…

Monster of the Day #2009

The finale T-Rex movie (OK, "T-Rex" is loosely define) was Beast from Hollow Mountain, a pretty boring Western enlivened by a nice 10 minute dino-rampage. It's no Valley of Gwangi, that's for sure, but look at that thing. It's adorable.

Sorry about the lack of a thumbnail, I cant' get Imgur to work right and I have to go to work. So after Golden Bat/Odon Batto, we had two quizzes (Chad R won Sandy's quiz, I beat the Rev by one point on Chad R's quiz--thank you, Michael Dunn). Then we headed to Rodeo…

Monster of the Day #2007

The third movie was the fantastic Golden Bat (Odon Bat), revolving around the skeletal manga hero who is considered by some to be the first superhero. The rat guy is the villain. It's pretty much the greatest movie ever made. Sandy had it on a Euro DVD that sold it as a Fantomas (!!)…

Monster of the Day #2006

Sigh, I guess I had to return to the real world at some point. T-Fest 2019 was successful as usual, we really have this down after 15 years (and 25 shows counting the spring editions). The first movie was Hanging for Django, which proved the first of several Euro genre films we watched while…

Monster of the Day 2005

Man, looking at the horror films for the early 2000s is depressing. All sequels and remakes (and seldom good ones--The Fog, blech). I guess I'll go with Wes Craven's Cursed, although it didn't go very well and nobody remembers it and it features (apparently) CGI werewolves. As a rule, those have not been successful.…

Monster of the Day #2004

We continue towards lackluster days. Shawn of the Dead is brilliant (and the Dawn of the Dead remake was surprisingly good), but again, zombies are pretty generic. Far worse is the attempts to turn monsters into blockbuster material. Van Helsing? Blecch. Saw started a whole semi-genre, but I don't think Jigsaw was in it…
