Monster of the Day

Another shot from The Thing prequel/redo. Not my bag, really. The extraction / healing so far has been pretty painless. Mostly it's about not disturbing the blood clot so you don't get a horrific sounding thing called dry socket. By Sunday I might try Mac & Cheese and see how that goes. So far…

I heard the 2011 prequel of The Thing was actually just more of a complete remake/rip-off, and thus quite lame. I didn't see it, though, so I have no evidence as to whether this is true.

Note that this isn't in his chest, so it's completely different. Let the puns begin! Speaking of horrors, the Cubs are in danger of getting swept and I have to have a crumbling tooth extracted tomorrow, just in time for my normally super-fun annual Halloween get together with my old library friends. Wheeeeeeeee!

Finally! Ripping off The Thing rather than Alien.

I said eariler that Leviathan ripped off Alien as well as The Thing, but then I could find no stills proving such a thing. Apparently I was wrong.

This film kind of got lost in the shuffle at T-Fest, I think. I've always loved it, though, since I saw it as a tot at a drive-in as a wee tot. I'm not a fan of sleazy, but I love lurid, and this film has lurid to spare.
