The increase of thin/slim DVD cases gives me reason to ask what people prefer. I cast my vote for thick cases. They have bigger labels, making it easier to pick a title from a crowded shelf. Plus, I find the slim cases notoriously prone to let the disk pop loose and rattle around, thus scratching it. I'm guessing the slim ones are cheaper to manufacture, but I don't think they're worth all the hassle. Where do the rest of you come down on this?

Though it will never happen I'd wish they put them in CD sized jeweled cases. Much less likely for the disk to get loose. I guess I'm just used to squinting at my giant CD collection so the small print doesn't bother me.

Well, the advantage of their current configuration is that they stand level with VHS tapes when lined on the shelf (you have to keep the tapes slid a little further out so they line up with the width of the disks, but it keeps the shelf looking somewhat ordered).

Store bought cases?
Well, big packaging makes the display for the contents stand out.
I wish I could find a bunch of soft plastic cases, to avoid scratching the disks, though.
