This is a crap week for B-Movie fans. Apparently Mr. Walcott (of Plan 9) passed on the 23rd and Mr. Z'Dar on the 30th.

This isn't turning out to be a very good year for cult TV and movie actors is it?

RIP Mr. Walcott and Z'Dar

I'm terrified to think what next Monday will bring.

Well, James Best (Dukes of Hazard, Killer Shrews) passed yesterday. RIP Mr Best.

And his appearances in The Killer Shrews and The Savage Bees (not to mention a ton of lesser-known cheapies)definitely qualifies him. Folks, we have a B-Movie Monday Death trifecta here.

And I don't mean to be too disrespectful, all will be missed, but my overdeveloped sense of the absurd just can't be denied. I actually saw James Best 10 or 15 years back in a production of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with Ann Margret. He was quite a good singer.

He could sing too? Wow!

I was just looking at his entry on the IMDB- first movie in 1950 and his last is in pre-production now to be out later this year- 1950 to 2015. That's quite a career!

And the people he trained. Apparently he was a well respected acting teacher before taking on "them Duke boys".

As far as the singing goes, hubby and I were watching something the other day, can't remember what, but probably an old TV show, where he turned up as a singing character. Mr. GJ looks at me and goes "I didn't know he sang." This despite the fact that he saw BLWIT with me, lol.
