One of the last true giants of the golden age of the movies has passed away at the age of 93. Although credited with nearly 340 acting credits according to the IMDB (a couple have been removed since I posted Mickey's obit on Baker's Log), Rooney may have had only one real brush with Jabootu via the horrible REVENGE OF THE RED BARON, in which the Baron returns to life as a killer doll to pilot a model airplane built from pieces of the Baron's original plane, shot down by Rooney. Ugh!

Fortunately, Rooney's legacy is more firmly established via the Andy Hardy series, a number of swell 50's crime thrillers, and several Disney movies. Rest In Peace, Sir. You will be missed.
